Although we have been conducting research on migratory phenomena for more than 20 years, we do not consider immigration to be a universe in itself.
Instead, we are engaged in the study of the social and economic transformations caused by growing levels of international mobility and cultural diversity.
We also propose to analyse how the great systemic transitions we are experiencing – in the technological, environmental and geopolitical fields – interact at different levels with different forms of migration.
FIERI currently has 39 members, who meet at an Assembly once a year. While the governing bodies are made up of established scholars, the research group is constantly renewed with the addition of young people, who make up a significant portion of the staff.
