WelcomingSpaces – Investing in “welcoming spaces” in Europe: revitalising shrinking areas by hosting non-EU migrants
16 February 2023

The project is funded under the European Horizon 2020 Programme for Research and Innovation and is coordinated by Utrecht University, the Netherlands. The main objective is to ‘rethink’ solutions for inclusive and sustainable development in depopulating rural areas, contributing to the revitalization of these places and the integration of migrants in areas facing demographic and economic decline. WELCOMING SPACES, starting from some good practices, aims to seek new ways to combine two policy challenges: how to contribute to the revitalization of declining areas while offering space for the development of new types of government-citizen-migrant relationships.
All the produced materials are available on the website: https://www.welcomingspaces.eu/

As part of the project, FIERI has contributed with the following products:

Digitalisation of services and measures for migrant integration: Are the inner areas losers or winners?

Victims or resources? Migrants and shrinking areas in the post-Covid-19 society in Italy

Webinar “Paese che vai, sviluppo che trovi: migrazioni, aree interne e rinascita dei territori”
