Transnational communities in co-development politics
30 December 2005

FIERI has taken part to this research project within the MIGRACTION prgramme on migration and international cooperation headed by CeSPI (Rome). This research aimed at investigating the degree of the cultural and economic integration of the largest immigrant communities (Moroccons, Romenians, Egyptians) in some big Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Turin). It explored the ties that those communities keep with their home land, in order to promote projects of cooperation thanks to the migrants social resource. FIERI was in charge of studying the Romenian immigration in Turin and the transnational activities between italy and the country of origin. The research was supervised by Prof. Michael Eve. The results were presented in Turin in a public seminar held on December 2005.
