Side Effects of Nationality Laws
19 December 2008

The research, co-financed by the Compagnia di San Paolo, proposes an analysis of the citizenship laws of some EU countries (Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Spain and Germany) and the unexpected effects that these have on flows, movement of people and labor market within the European Union and the United States.

The project included a period of data collection and field work in Argentina, a country with an important community of Italian origin.

The results on the Italian case were published in the volume edited by Guido Tintori (2010), Fardelli d’Italia. Conseguenze nazionali e transnazionali delle politiche di cittadinanza italiane, Carocci, Roma.
