The project is funded by the Cassa di Risparmio di Cuneo Foundation and carried out by FIERI (operational coordination and qualitative analysis) and Laboratorio R. Revelli (quantitative analysis). The main objective is to investigate the characteristics of migrant and foreign-origin workers employed in the agri-food sector of the province of Cuneo and their methods of integration/permanence in the area, focusing on differences among more stable presences, seasonal presences, and circular presences. The research is divided into two components: one of a quantitative nature and one of a qualitative nature. The quantitative analysis provides an up-to-date snapshot of migrant employment in this sector and enables the highlighting of macro trends, while the qualitative analysis allows for an in-depth, insider view of the various aspects concerning the work and social life of the immigrant community. The research findings have been published in the “Booklet n. 38 Migrant work in agriculture. The fruit and wine districts in the Cuneo area” Part of the CRC Foundation series, created by researchers from FIERI and LABORatorio R. Revelli.
