


Pietro Cingolani (PhD, University of Turin, 2008) has been collaborated with FIERI since 2003. He is assistant professor at the University of Bologna. He has taught at the University of Turin, the University of Trento, the University of Eastern Piedmont and he has collaborated with Italian and foreign educational institutions. He has a long experience in field research in Italy, Romania and other Eastern European countries as well. His areas of interest and specialization are migration processes, transnationalism, uban ethnography, inter-ethnic relations, the mobility and social segregation nexus, with particular attention to the Roma populations. He has coordinated several research projects and since 2006 he has curated photographic exhibitions on these issues and the International Documentary Film Festival Crocevia di Sguardi.
