MIGLIORA. Migration & Integration: Creating Bonds, Inclusion, and Opportunities for Refugees in Rural and Mountainous Areas

MIGLIORA is a project by Compagnia di San Paolo, carried out by FIERI, the social cooperative Labins (Laboratory of Social Innovation), the Dislivelli Association, and the MEDI Study Center – Migrations in the Mediterranean, in collaboration with UNHCR, the United Nations Refugee Agency. MIGLIORA is a capacity-building program aimed at strengthening skills and supporting the identification of effective solutions in the field of integrating asylum seekers and refugees. It begins with an in-depth analysis of successful experiences, offering technical solutions and opportunities to share issues, exchange solutions, and build a community of practices capable of addressing the challenges posed by the integration of newcomers into local communities. The MIGLIORA training sessions will take place in Piedmont and Liguria between 2018 and 2019. They are designed for various stakeholders involved in the field of integrating asylum seekers and refugees, including local entities, social service providers, managers of reception centers (CAS and SPRAR), social cooperatives, volunteer associations, and others.
