Project for the employment of volunteers and conscientious objectors serving abroad. As part of the project promoted and financed by the Piedmont Region, FIERI organized a series of seminars aimed at providing a group of volunteers who carried out their service in various French cities with adequate tools to conduct some interviews with Piedmontese associations Italian emigrants (preferably Piedmontese).
The meetings were also open to students, researchers, media operators, public administration personnel and people interested in the topic. The seminars addressed the following topics: Foreign immigration in Italy (Giovanna Zincone), History of Italian emigration and History of Piedmontese emigration (Maddalena Tirabassi), History of Italian emigration in France (Paola Corti), The questionnaire (Mario Cardano ), Network analysis (Micheal Eve), Ethnographic research (Giovanni Semi). FIERI also guaranteed a remote support activity, in order to resolve methodological problems that arose during the data collection phase. The results of the interviews were presented in a brief summary edited by Angela Lostia and Guido Tintori.
