The working paper ‘Indispensable but excluded. Migrant Riders in Italy, Poland, Spain and Ukraine’ has been published as part of the Horizon Europe DignityFIRM project. The study examines the working and living conditions of migrant riders in the food delivery sector in four European countries: Italy, Poland, Spain, and Ukraine.
Among the authors are Eleonora Celoria and Gianluca Iazzolino (FIERI).
The paper addresses three main questions: what conditions migrant riders experience, which factors contribute to shaping these conditions, and how effective existing policies are in protecting them. The study draws on a comparative qualitative research approach including over one hundred interviews, focus groups, field observations, and national reports produced through a harmonized research framework.
