GLAMMS – Migrant Associations, Governance, and Local Public Goods in Mali and Senegal
26 March 2010

The research project focused on Senegalese and Mali migrant associations in France and Italy. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the study analysed how these associations manage to promote development initiatives in the countries of origin. The project was based on a survey made, from the one side, on a sample of migrant associations in Italy and France, and, from the other side, on a sample of villages in Senegal and Mali, combining both quantitative and qualitative research tools. GLAMMS was financed by the programme Emergence(s) of the City of Paris and was coordinated by DIAL (Développement, Institutions et Analyses de Long Terme), a research institute dealing with the economy of development, based in Paris. FIERI was the Italian partner of the research project.
