The activism of people with a migrant background more and more involves online and offline voices through a plurality of tools and languages.
Today in Italy there is a rich panorama of movements, networks, associations and projects that intend to encourage the protagonism of people of immigrant origin and to combat discrimination.
Blogs, podcasts and social pages have also spread, using the potential offered by digital platforms to address a wide audience, promoting equal rights and greater social inclusion.
These initiatives address topics of interest to the social sciences: from the deconstruction of stereotypes to the visibility and representation of minorities in the various spheres of Italian society; from reflections on complex identities, to the production of artistic and/or literary works that restore the image of a plural Italy. The perspective of the younger generations is particularly full of insights that could renew and enrich the scientific debate.
In this index, FIERI intends to dialogue with young people with a migrant background actively engaged in projects for social inclusion, to relate their perspectives to that which emerges from the scientific literature and to reflect more consciously on discrimination and its consequences in contemporary Italy.
