Integration in the square: Foreign traders and multi-ethnic clientele in urban markets.

The foreign presence in local markets is steadily increasing and single-handedly supports the entire itinerant trade sector. Moreover, the contribution of foreign entrepreneurs to street vending is making markets increasingly places of intercultural social relations. The study has analyzed numbers and statistics regarding foreign presence in local markets and has planned a field investigation aimed at describing the three Turin squares with the highest foreign presence: Porta Palazzo, Piazza Madama Cristina, and Corso Racconigi.
