The project, financed by the European Integration Fund of the European Commission, was coordinated by FIERI and carried out in collaboration with COMPAS (University of Oxford), HWWI (Hamburg), Trinity College (Dublin), Complutense University (Madrid) and IOM (Brussels). The purpose of the research study was to improve knowledge, increase awareness and stimulate action-oriented measures for the integration of migrant workers in the health sector at a workplace level. The research project included two components. The research component was aimed at assessing and analysing the state of integration of migrant workers in private and/or public health structures (hospitals) in five European cities (Dublin, Hamburg, Oxford, Madrid, Turin). The project had also a dialogue/advocacy component addressed to policy-makers, entrepreneurs, etc. interested in the study of migrants’ integration in workplaces. This component aimed at: a) raising awareness of integration challenges at workplace level, with a focus on the health sector; b) disseminating knowledge about promising practices of workplace integration; c) fostering dialogue and cooperation among different categories of stakeholders for the design and implementation of innovative actions in this field. All the research materials are available on www.workint.fieri.it/.
